About Our Classic Program

Our classic program

The FC Frederick Classic Program is targeted at recreational players interested in a fun and challenging soccer environment that involves less travel, time commitment, and cost than other FC Frederick programs. The Classic Director oversees all aspects of the Classic Program, and works with the Director of Coaching to develop and implement curricular goals for all players and coaches.

FC Frederick's current Classic Director, Dave Shannon, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the program. You can contact him with questions at dshannon@fcfrederick.com.

Every player that registers for the Classic Program will be placed on a team up to team roster limits. There are no tryouts for Classic team placement. Each fall and spring, FC Frederick creates teams at the 5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, High School JV (9/10th grade) and High School Varsity (11/12th grade) age groups that participate in the United Recreational Soccer League (URSL).

These teams are meant to be coached by volunteer coaches in most cases. Depending on registrations we will strive to have Boys teams and Girls teams, however, when that is not possible they will be Co-ed.
