Middle School League (MSL) Registration is Open (Summer 2026)!

The FC Frederick Middle School League (MSL) is back for its 17th big season for the Summer of 2026!! New Division for 2026: Pre-MSL 5v5, for 3rd and 4th Graders!!

Since 2009, over 8,000 players have participated from middle schools across Frederick, Washington, and Carroll counties. High School coaches love the format ... it's a great way for them to see the kids coming into their programs:

“5v5 creates a fast-paced environment where players are constantly involved in attacking, defending, and making decisions. It’s a great way to build confidence, be creative, and compete with friends while improving and having fun over the summer.” Dara Demich, Girls Varsity Coach, Brunswick High School

“This opportunity to play games with classmates and future high school teammates is a great outlet over the summer. 5v5 will give our kids the time they need on the ball to develop their technique and decision making.” Todd Knepper, Boys Varsity Coach, Tuscarora High School

Teams will be formed based on players' High School feeder system as follows:

Brunswick HS: Future Roaders
Catoctin HS: Future Cougars
Frederick HS: Future Cadets
Linganore HS: Future Lancers
Middletown HS: Future Knights
Oakdale HS: Future Bears
Thomas Johnson HS: Future Patriots
Tuscarora HS: Future Titans
Urbana HS: Future Hawks
Walkersville HS: Future Lions
*Teams from outside Frederick County will have similar designations

Each program will field Pre-MSL, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams for each gender, with registration open to all players within a high school feeder system from 3rd to 9th grade (2026-27 school year).

The MSL is a Summer League playing 5v5 for Pre-MSL (4 Field Players + GK) and 7v7 for JV and Varsity levels (6 Field Players + GK). The season begins in late June and ends in late July. Each team plays one weekday & one weekend game for a total of 8 games as follows:

Tuesday = Pre-MSL, Girls
Wednesday = Boys
Sunday = All teams
Thursday or Friday = Overflow & Rainout days

NOTE: Evaluations (for team placement, not "cutting" players) may be held during May & June if warranted by registration numbers, and are for the purpose of sorting players into relatively equal teams for areas that may have more than one team at any age group or gender. IT IS THE GOAL OF THE MSL TO PLACE EVERY PLAYER ON A TEAM. If this isn't possible for some reason, players will receive a full refund. Team placements will be posted on the FC Frederick website in June.
